The Performing Arts centre is the recipient of the gold medal award for New Zealand Architecture consisting of a 400 seat concert chamber with high performing acoustics as well as all necessary supporting spaces and services.
Constructed over 12 months, some special features included the curved ceiling to the main entrance, locally designed and manufactured light fittings and acoustic features that are second to none. A complex self-controlling HVAC system was installed, monitoring weather and adjusting airflow and temperature automatically.
